Cloudflare is a network that operates on internet. It is used to increase the performance and security of websites and services.
Bloggers, businesses and the non profit organisations alike can get online presence, secure website as well as apps through Cloudflare.
Cloudflare offers commendable IT security products and content delivery networks, enabling companies to go forward. Providing IT security is the prime goal of Cloudflare and quite recently, it acquired an IT security company.
How Cloudflare Works?
Earlier, when you tried loading a website, the request went from the computer to server, and then returned to the web page requested by you. If there are a number of requests, the server can crash and become unresponsive to users trying to access the resource. Thus, it became tough to provide content fast in a safe and reliably way.
Cloudflare helps to bring down such concerns, providing users with apps, sites and blogs that performed well.
This is achieved through an edge network that provides services and content as close as possible, helping you to get the information as fast as possible.
Cloudflare also ensures better security protecting internet properties from malicious activities in the form of malicious bots or other intrusions.
Cybersecurity: Soon to be a Thing of the Past
According to Michelle Zatlyn, the COO and cofounder of Cloudflare, cybersecurity will not be here in ten years.
Zatlyn further pointed out that technology will not be threat proof in the future, but it will get rid of the threats much early.
In the future, internet will be like water filtration system, with the cybersecurity networks cleansing everything that passes through them.
With most people working from home, the need for such cloud cybersecurity network has increased instead of the on-premise hardware capacitated to protect only one location.
Know the Number of Bots Lingering on Website
Cloudflare has a new tool now that helps customers to analyse and detect the presence of bots on website.
This solution offers a detailed detection, informing the users of the number of bots and also if they can be classified as good or bad bots.
Bots do not have a good reputation. However, all of them are not malicious. In fact, there are several services employing a level of automation use bots.
The bad bots are certainly not welcome. They may be hoarding the inventory or scraping content. However, as the bots represent around 40% of online traffic, it is not easy to find out which bots you should block, and which, you should not.
The integrated networking as well as security services of Cloudflare are built on data centers, managed across 200 cities. As during this pandemic, the IT teams are unable to deploy or upgrade the physical appliances, Cloudflare believes, more networking services are to be consumed through a secure service. Moreover, as Cloudflare is easy to set up, if you have a website or a domain, you can start using it. It does not require any additional hardware or software, or changes in the code either.
