What is Google Cloud Next or Google Next?
Google Cloud Next is a global conference. This conference is attended by business leaders, entrepreneurs and developers alike to explore cloud and find ways to do business using this technology.
Google Cloud Next started in March 2017.
The first conference was attended by more than 11,000 developers, entrepreneurs, engineers and IT leaders. In the demos and training sessions, the participants learnt multiple topics, ranging from infrastructure to machine learning, under the guidance of Cloud technology experts.

Google Cloud Next 2020
This year, the Cloud Next conference was held virtually owing to the spread of coronavirus. Though this year, the conference was supposed to be held in April in San Francisco, Google decided to livestream this year. Streamed events include breakout sessions, keynotes, interactive learning, and question and answer sessions.
This year, the Google Cloud Next ’20 held its sessions from 14th July to 8th September. In the sessions that lasted for nine weeks, a large number of topics on cloud computing were covered. Though most of the topics were for developers, business tycoons and start-ups, there were also a few inspiring and interesting sessions that you can understand even if you do not have very sound cloud knowledge.
Google Cloud Next ’20,every week focused on a topic and a few keynote events. The topics covered include the following:
Industry insights: July 14
Week 9 chiefly had discussions on investments in business application platform, how organisations are helped to build business procedures, extension of new applications and ways to modernise legacy applications.
Productivity and Collaboration: July 21
Week 8 was on changing the way teams work with the solutions that are designed and built for impact.
Infrastructure: July 28
Week 7 discussed ways to migrate and modernise workload on secure, global and reliable infrastructure of Google.
Security: August 4
Week 6 held discussions on detection, investigation and response to online threats to protect business from security breaches.
Data analytics: August 11
Week 5 generated insights from data through a managed analytics platform.
Data management and databases: August 18
Week 4 discussed migration and management of enterprise data through reliability, security and fully managed data service.
Application modernisation: August 25
Week 3 was dedicated to discussion on ways to run or develop applications making use of open source or any other software without an operations team.
Cloud AI: September 1
Week 2 held discussions on adding intelligence as well as efficiency to business with the aid of machine learning and AI.
Business Application Platform: September 8
Week 1 was chiefly for topics on API. It discussed on ways to secure, design, analyse and scaling APIs.
